Are You Interested in Sailing?
In addition to spending a day on a sailboat, you might consider competing in sail boat races during one of our Sunday regattas, or perhaps, cheering on a friend or family member. We compete on the lake with other clubs. Have you ever been in a sail boat? We’d love to teach you how to sail. Just join a fleet like the C-18’s or the C-14's, get free training and take out a boat, all part of your membership benefits. Also, your children or grandchildren can learn how to sail in small boats. We have a very successful Summer Sailing Academy for young sailors with highly qualified and experienced instructors that young people and their parents really enjoy. Youngsters in our classes usually end up loving to sail and, after a week or two, even compete in races. You may have a young Captain in your family. We have a full season of regattas in which all age levels compete with and get to know sailors from other clubs.

How About Kayaking?
We have a whole rack of free kayaks and, once you join the fleet, we will teach you how to paddle. If you are out early in the morning when the lake is still, you may see the swans eye to eye or be greeted by an incoming flock of Canada Geese, landing right next to you. Kayakers party together too. We have kayak fleet gourmet dinners at members’ homes each month. Come and join us for dinner.
Would You Like to Dance?
We have our own house band, Around the Sound, that performs throughout the year. Also, there are numerous caterers, orchestras and performers at special events like our Sweetheart’s Ball, the formal Commodore’s Ball, our annual Luau or Lobster Fest. We periodically have dances with live music at our weekly Friday social gatherings. We take requests and have dance instructors.

Come to an Open House
You are invited to our open house events on a Sunday afternoon in the Spring, Summer and Fall. Check the Calendar tab for the exact date and time. In addition to meeting our members, check out the deck and enjoy some great food and drink. Our staff will be happy to answer all your questions. See our pictures and videos of the club on the big screen. Who knows, you might get a free boat ride on the lake.
Dinner and a Movie
On selected Monday nights, we have a delicious dinner, cooked at the club by member chefs together with a current film. We might even take requests. If you help clean up, or even if you don’t, it’s only $10.
Renting the Club
The Westlake Yacht Club is a place to enjoy boating on our beautiful Lake. It’s also a place to enjoy your life, make new acquaintances, and have a new home away from home on the water. Check out our social schedule, access to boats and our member’s stories. We offer a substantial discount to regular members for renting the club house for weddings, company parties or family celebrations. We will be happy to have you talk with our Catering Sales Manager.
Trial Membership
The Westlake Yacht Club offers a one-time 3-month Trial Membership for $500 where a person or couple has the opportunity to enjoy the Westlake lifestyle and explore the benefits of WYC membership. This 3-month trial membership is open to all those who are interested. There are no requirements to live on the lake or own a boat.
